Mission

Launched in August, 2020, Indynoggin's primary mission is to provide a venue for free speech & independent thought about the day's most controversial social & political issues.

Indynoggin highlights problems at the intersections of identity, reason, and power in the context of the United States. A central part of this project is to vigorously challenge prevailing orthodoxies that stand as obstacles to efforts to constructively
address these problems.

One aspect of this project is interpretive. It involves recognition of and reflection about the fact that people have varying identities, beliefs, values, personalities, and commitments and trying to better understand and accurately describe them.

This project also has significant normative components. That is, I am trying to persuade you that reasonable people ought to consent to epistemic, ethical, and political norms for public deliberations in a diverse, liberal democracy.

It is not my intention to naval gaze or promote purely selfish interests but to acknowledge the role that values play in my own, as well as everyone else's judgments. Thus, the project includes an effort to critically reflect upon and clearly describe aspects of my own subjective identity (i.e., my own particularly situated perspective, interests, values, commitments, etc.) that influence the project's normative components.

Another of the project's components is empirical-analytic in nature. It involves good faith efforts to identify the best empirical evidence about observable human differences and make rational inferences about how different patterns of behavior might influence the inequalities of outcome that persist in liberal democratic societies
